528 pages. Approximately two weeks of reading this novel (I didn’t get much reading done during the lunar new year).
Which was why I had a sense of accomplishment the minute I tagged The Art of Fielding from ‘currently reading’ to ‘read’ on goodsread.
Since the story centers mostly on baseball, I had difficulty understanding it.
Well written characters. Good plot. All in all, it was an engaging read, though I can’t help but wonder why does it have to be 500+ pages long.
The Art of Fielding is the debut novel of Chad Harbach. It’s not everyday where you get a dazzling novel like The Art of Fielding. Do check it out!
Mr Harbach took a painstaking 9 years writing this book. If you were to ask me, it’s totally worth it. I feel satisfied having read the book.

I was really looking forward to this book, and I was left horribly disappointed. Henry is barely even a character.
I have to admit that Henry’s my least favourite character too. The book’s really not for everyone, though surprisingly, I enjoyed myself. It would be better if it’s shorter. Some of the chapters seem redundant. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
